What is a Coached training league?
A coached training league is an 8-week volleyball program where athletes can join a team with a professional coach and compete against other athletes in their age division. At Delta Athletics, we’re all about giving athletes the chance to play volleyball in a local and accessible setting, all while receiving top-notch coaching. If club or school volleyball isn’t an option, our training leagues are a great way for athletes to keep playing and improving their game. There will be a lower league for ages 10-12 and an upper league for ages 13-17.

Rest assured, every athlete who signs up for the training league will get a spot on a team.
What happens if I can’t come to evaluations?
If you can’t make the formal evaluations on September 1st or 2nd, you can attend any of our classes for an informal evaluation before the training league starts. Just contact us to set it up! Your first class at Delta is free. And if none of the class dates work, don’t worry—your athlete is guaranteed a spot on a team. We have a process for those who miss evaluations.
Professional coaching
Delta Athletics believes that athletes deserve access to multiple high-quality coaches. We find exposure to multiple coaching styles allows athletes to find the coach that works for them and the opportunity to develop in their own way. This is why each week every practice will have a master coach for your training and a head coach for your team. At Delta, we have an open-door policy and believe both parents and athletes should be well informed about their growth and direction in the sport. Delta Athletics coaches are all IMPACT and SafeSport certified.

Delta Athletics understands the desire to find the best fit for your athlete, but unfortunately, we’re unable to move athletes to different age groups due to our training league policy. Our teams are thoughtfully created to ensure fair playing time and balanced skill levels, so that every athlete has a great opportunity to grow and develop at their own pace. Once a season has started, teams are finalized, meaning athletes cannot switch teams within their league or move up or down. This helps us maintain consistency and fairness throughout the season.
Delta Athletics is unable to accommodate team requests for carpooling purposes unless a parent volunteers to be an assistant coach. To keep teams balanced and ensure skills are evenly distributed, team requests cannot be fulfilled. Our goal is for athletes to grow alongside their peers, with equal opportunities to improve their skills and compete for the tournament win.
