Fundamental Development for Young Players
For athletes who are under 12 years old, or in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. Youth Volleyball focuses on developing all-around skills for volleyball (serving, passing, hitting, and setting), and teaches the basic strategies of offense and defense. Training is 60 minutes in length, and is open to both boys and girls.
Note: until 12 years old, volleyball at both the school and club level is played on a lower net with a lighter volleyball (volley-lite). Our youth program uses the volley-lite volleyballs, but uses a standard height net. We have found this is the best training environment for younger athletes beginning the game.
What will the athlete learn?
The athlete will gain a strong foundation in the fundamentals of volleyball and will learn how to play in a team environment.
Is this a difficult program?
No. This is an introductory class for volleyball. No experience is necessary, and athletes of all skill levels are invited.
