NORTHSHORE TRAINING SCHEDULE

Delta Athletics has a variety of training programs available each week, with camps, clinics, and private lessons seasonally available. Read below for our current opportunities.

WEEKLY CLASSES

youth VOLLEYBALL | 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Level: Beginner (no experience needed)

For athletes who are under 12 years old, or in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. Youth Volleyball focuses on developing all-around skills for volleyball (serving, passing, hitting, and setting), and teaches the basic strategies of offense and defense. Training is 60 minutes in length, and is open to both boys and girls.

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE VB | 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Level: Beginner (no experience needed)

For athletes 12 to 18 years old looking to learn how to play volleyball. This program is recommended for athletes who are new to the sport,  moving up from a Volley-Lite program, coming from a recreation league, or moving from another competitive sport. Beginner/Intermediate Volleyball focuses on giving the athletes the education play the game confidently. In addition to developing all-around skills for volleyball (serving, passing, hitting, and setting), Beginner Volleyball teaches players to play anywhere on the court, and how to work together as a team. Training is 90 minutes in length, and is open to both boys and girls.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED VB | 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Level: Intermediate (1+ years of competitive volleyball)

For athletes 12 to 18 years old with at least 1-year of competitive volleyball, graduation from the Beginner/Intermediate Volleyball program, or both. The Intermediate/Advanced Volleyball program focuses on giving the athletes the skills, knowledge, and mindset to play competitively. In addition to developing all-around skills for volleyball (serving, passing, hitting, and setting), Intermediate/Advanced Volleyball focuses on teaching the fundamentals of rotation and location-based play (front row, back row, defender, setter, hitter). Training is 90 minutes in length and is open to both boys and girls.

Delta Athletics Youth Volleyball Camp is geared toward athletes from 10-12 years old looking to learn the fundamentals of volleyball, get better at their skills and develop a strong foundation of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun!

Program Details

Our Youth Camp runs three hours each weekday (Tu-F) from 9am to 12pm. We use the USAV official regulations for gameplay under 12 years old (7″ net height, and VolleyLite ball). Athletes will learn the fundamentals of volleyball including serving, passing, setting, attack, and defense, with special attention paid to successful serving at any age (or size!).

What to wear, what to bring

Please be dressed in workout attire (workout shirt + shorts or leggings), have proper volleyball shoes, and kneepads (required). A water bottle and snacks are recommended.

What will the athlete learn?

The athlete will gain a strong foundation in the proper techniques for playing volleyball, as well as learn the rules, positions, and teamwork necessary to be successful on the volleyball court.

Is this a difficult program?

At Delta Athletics, we strive to give you challenges that are age and skill appropriate. If you are new to volleyball, this program will be a lot of (fun!) information. If you have played before, our coaches will challenge you to refine your skills towards the next level.

Level: Beginner – Advanced (athletes will be grouped by skill levels, if necessary)

Delta Athletics Season Gear Up is a program focused on getting ready for the school volleyball season. this program will prepare you for fall tryouts, get your skills ready for the next level, and help you get back into volleyball shape.

Our Season Gear Up runs three hours each weekday (M-F) from 9am to 12pm. Each day will have a specific skill focus (serving, passing, setting, hitting, teamwork), and will have position-specific training for all positions.

What to wear, what to bring

Please be dressed in workout attire (workout shirt + shorts or leggings), have proper volleyball shoes, and kneepads (required). A water bottle and snacks are recommended.

This will include skill development, physical challenges, and mental toughness training. But we strive to only give you challenges that you can handle, so your training with will be geared toward your needs.
