why a Coaching pay matrix?

We believe that providing athletes the opportunities to advance at their own pace delivers numerous benefits, Likewise, we believe that letting coaches step into new roles and gain new education should be rewarded. That’s why we publish a yearly coaching pay matrix – to be transparent with your pay, and to provide you opportunities to improve your bottom line through education and opportunity. With Delta, your pay can increase by gaining more education, taking on more responsibility, or expanding into camp coaching.

HOW TO DETERMINE and increase YOUR PAY

Your pay can increase by gaining more education, or taking on more responsibility
  1. Find your starting salary.
All coaches begin coaching as Assistants, and starting salary will depend on your level of school education. Find your current level of education to enter the pay matrix. Then, move left to find your level of coaching accreditation. (For example, an Assistant in high school, with no coaching accreditation will start in the lower left corner, and have a base pay of $10.00/hr. Likewise, an Assistant with a bachelors degree and USAV Impact and Safe Sport will have a base pay of $18.00/hr)
  2. Increase your pay by increasing your role in the gym.
The easiest way to increase your pay is to learn the Assistant role well, and look to advance into a Head Coach position. This happens in the gym by understanding the areas outside of coaching – from gym setup, to athlete management in the Zen Planner system, to inventory tracking. Once your Master Coach or Area Manager approves your advancement, you may begin scheduling yourself for Head Coaching roles.
  3. Increase your pay though coaching education.
All Delta coaches are encouraged to further their coaching education by taking advantage of our education reimbursement – we will pay 50% of any Delta approved coach training you wish to attend – up to $400 per year! The first, and easiest, way to become an accredited coach is to take the USAV Impact and SafeSport trainings. These are available online though your USAV membership on SportsEngine, once you register as a Coach with USAV.
  4. Coach A Delta Camp, Earn a Bonus!
We understand that Delta is a great part-time opportunity, and we rarely ask you to work any other day than Sundays. Thats why all Delta coaches are paid at a higher hourly rate when working a camp, because we are asking you to commit more of your time to us. Your pay can increase can be between $3.00/hr and $5.00/hr according to your current coaching level. To get an exact bonus amount, refer to the ‘Delta Camp Bonus’ column in the Coaching Pay Matrix.
