Beginner to Intermediate Volleyball Skill Development
Delta Athletics Youth Volleyball Camp is geared toward athletes from 10-12 years old looking to learn the fundamentals of volleyball, get better at their skills and develop a strong foundation of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun!
Our Youth Camp runs three hours each weekday (M-F) from 9am to 12pm. We use the USAV official regulations for gameplay under 12 years old (7″ net height, and VolleyLite ball). Athletes will learn the fundamentals of volleyball including serving, passing, setting, attack, and defense, with special attention paid to successful serving at any age (or size!).
What to wear, what to bring
Please be dressed in workout attire (workout shirt + shorts or leggings), have proper volleyball shoes, and kneepads (required). A water bottle and snacks are recommended.
What will the athlete learn?
The athlete will gain a strong foundation in the proper techniques for playing volleyball, as well as learn the rules, positions, and teamwork necessary to be successful on the volleyball court.
Is this a difficult program?
At Delta Athletics, we strive to give you challenges that are age and skill appropriate. If you are new to volleyball, this program will be a lot of (fun!) information. If you have played before, our coaches will challenge you to refine your skills towards the next level.
COVID-19 Policies and Code of Conduct
All athletes, parents, and spectators must go through the entry station before fully entering the facility, and all entrants agree to adhere to the following:
- Hand Sanitizing
- Temperature Check
- Volleyball Wipedown
- Mask check
Backpacks are permitted, but must be separate from other individuals’ equipment, and left in the bleachers or along the sidelines.
It is recommended that all athletes bring a water bottle and keep it isolated. There are no active water fountains on premises.
Denial of Entry
Any athlete, parent, or spectator who does not meet the entrance requirements will not be allowed entry.
Any athlete who shows a fever at the entry station will not be allowed back into camp without proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
All members and visitors must wear a cloth facemask for the entirety of practice.
Delta recommends a ‘balaclava’ or ‘neck gaiter’ style bandanna that can be worn around the neck and will not fall off during gameplay. These are available on amazon and many other locations.
All athletes will sanitize to elbows after each break in play
Athletes and parents are highly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines outside of the facility to mitigate risk of transmission.
All balls exiting the facility will be subject to a ball wipedown.
Shutdown due to COVID-19
If an athlete who has attended camp notifies Delta Athletics of COVID-19 illness or exposure, the camp will be shut down. A partial credit will be given to all athletes based upon the percentage of camp completed, less a management fee. The ball and training shirt are yours to keep.
